I trained as a person centred therapist. What does that mean? It means a gentle, tentative way of working with you at the core of everything.
I have a special interest in working with people who are anxious, as it seems to be at the core of most of my work. I use other ways of working where appropriate. For example - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Solution Focussed Therapy. I will always explore with you what you feel comfortable with.
Experience - I've worked in schools and the NHS as a counsellor. I've also worked within the Education Team in a local authority, supporting young people to re-engage in education. As well as co-ordinated a community counselling service in Plymouth.
I also have a lot of experience of working with young people both as a counsellor and within educational settings. I have particular experience of working with young people who are stressed due to exam and curriculum pressure.
